“A painting in the street becomes part of the cities architecture, influenced by what’s around it rather than being some awkward canvas in an art gallery.”
Phlegm
Ingenious, but also unique and original artist, as evidenced by his choice of name of art, which he himself give a definition historical-philosophical: “The name Pleghm came from one of the four bodily humours in ancient Greek medicine: blood, even yellow, black bile and phlegm. Phlegm was believed to be responsible for ana apathetic and unemotional temperament.”
This is Phlegm, Welsh cartoonist and illustrator, currently living in Sheffield, enthusiast urban artist. Bridges, old buildings and even aircraft become the canvas for his giant and dramatic works, which like comics, allow us to discover new worlds and mythical characters, this time within the urban landscape.
